NIGERIA's ELECTIONS: WE GOT WHAT WE WANTED

A personal reflection from Victor Odunjo

Beloved,

Our GOD is mysterious. He decided to give us what we wanted. He gave us (as a nation) our heart desire. Lest we should ever turn around, like the Israelites, and say "If only BUHARI were our President".

Eru Olorun ba mi.( I stand in awe of God).  He would rather give us Buhari, our heart desire, than allow a bloodbath that could greet a Jonathan re-election. The 2011 election was not this keenly contested, see how many lives were lost.

Nothing really has changed. My only prayer now is for Buhari to prove me wrong. But Let us continue to be alert and watch unto prayer.

We bless God for GEJ. He was magnanimous in defeat. He did what even Buhari himself never did once, in all his 3 earlier  defeats. Who is  the true Democrat here? Like I said, I pray he proves me wrong.

In 2011, rather than concede defeat in an election he clearly lost,he instigated a blood bath that led to the killing of many youth corpers. He really has to prove me wrong now. That everything has changed in the last 4 short years. I just pray  "Sai Buhari" doesn't become "Sigh Buhari".

See how much excitement is in the air. The type Samuel had the day Saul won his own "election". Saul was so excited, despite knowing how wicked a king he would be to God's people. (1 Sam 10:24). May this man prove wrong that segment of the church that believes a tiger can't change its spots.

As for us, we dey Kanpe under any regime. Our citizenship is of heaven. Our God reigns in the affairs of men. Even the wrath of man will praise Him.(Ps 76:10).  We are like Mount Zion.  We cannot be moved.

I pray the fractured church of God will also come together now and become a formidable army. Christian, seek not yet repose. May God forgive us and heal us and restore us.

The Church is Marching on. The gates of hell will not prevail against it.

Let us continue, instant in prayer.

Thank you.

Victor Odunjo
